Montana Association of Clerks of District Court
In Montana, the clerks of district court act as district court record keepers and perform all related duties as described in 3-5-501,MCA. This elected office is vitally important to the operation of the district court system. The Montana Association of Clerks of District Court (MACDC) partners with the MSU Local Government Center (LGC) to ensure all clerks are provided sufficient educational support to successfully fulfill their duties.
MACDC members have the option to earn a certificate of achievement that demonstrates competency and expertise of the role and related responsibilities. MACDC provides certification for members who have met the three-part requirements of education, experience, and membership detailed in the certification curriculum linked below.
This year MSU Local Government Center (LGC) in partnership with the Montana Association of Clerks of District Court (MACDC) Education Committee is hosting an 11-hour education training Wednesday, October 6th- Thursday, October 7th, 2021 at the Copper King Hotel and Conference Center in Butte, Montana. Participants will also have an opportunity to tour the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives for an additional 2 hours of education credit time.
Please click on the link to register for this year's in-person event. An online option is offered if you are unable to attend in person. The conference fees and lodging are covered by MACDC with the exception of deputy clerks, who will be invoiced. Sessions for this year's school will be posted once formalized.
