Professional development is offered for the clerk, treasurer, and finance officer positions in all Montana municipal governments through the MSU Local Government Center (LGC). The LGC hosts a week-long Municipal Institute each May, at which 30 hours of IIMC certified training and typically 20+ hours of APT certified training are offered.

**Participants are responsible for booking and paying for their own hotel rooms.**
A block of state rate rooms is reserved at the Best Western GranTree for Municipal Institute participants under the block name MMEC 2019. Reservations can be made by calling (406) 587-5261.
There is a second block of state rate rooms available at the Days Inn across the parking lot from the Best Western GranTree. The room block is named MT Municipal Clerks, Treasurers, & finance Officers Association.
**please note, you must ask for the block as it is written (ask for "MT" not "Montana") when
requesting a room in the block.**
Reservations can be made at the Days Inn by calling (406) 414-6115.
Any remaining unreserved rooms in both room blocks will be released on April 3rd, 2019. Reserve your room before April 3rd to ensure you recieve the state rate.
Many Montana clerks, treasurers and finance officers are members of MMCT&FOA. The association provides a structured group that offers support, guidance, and training opportunities to fellow members throughout the year.

For those who wish to earn an IIMC international Certified Municipal Clerk certification or an APT international Public Finance Administrator certification, the Montana Municipal Institute provides the necessary training to complete the education portion of the accreditation requirements.
